Help me find a wrist support/splint thingy!

Please?

I had dodgy wrists that give out on me every so often.

I broke my left one years ago and got a lovely strap on wrist splint thingy - flat metal support runs down the middle underneath, foamy rest of it that straps round with velcro. When my wrist gives out it is just a case of wearing that for a few days until it co-operates again.

The right one does it too though, and where I've never broken it, I don't have a matching one. Tubigrip/bandaging doesn't work, nor do sports style wrist supports. It needs to be a sturdy splint that stays in place.

Doctor no use, he just suggests the above. Keeping it straight is the only way to fix it within a few days, the bendable way results in a fortnight or more of pain not only when using it, but also shooting right up my arm

So, after that ramble - I am looking for a site/shop that sells supports similar to my left one!!!

Help, pleeeeeeeeeease! I'm in pain

I got one from my physio many years ago! I'm surprised you have to resort to buying one.

Found this link:

Physio says my wrist is fine (what with it not being a problem when the appointment came through )

You fabulous woman!

I have 2 that I bought from the chemist, same as the one in the link used for my carpal tunnel. They really help.

Sorry, not NR. Try Physiosupplies (I'll try a link):

www.physiosupplies.com/acatalogue/wrist-brace-and-wrist-supports.html.

You should get one for nowt from a physio, but will have to be referred via GP to physio.

Flamesparrow · 04/10/2007 12:59

Aha - that seems to be what I have now

By the time I wait for the referral, then my wrist is fine etc, tis easier to just buy the thing

You are all fabulous
