2 weeks ago I ordered 3 jackets, with the view to sending 2 back.
Anyway after a week nothing arrived,so I called and they said I should have received it ,but they would cancel said order and send out a duplicate order that day.
Well the next day they arrived and I dutifully sent two back(paid £8.00 postage!).

Anyway roll on to today so nearly 3 weeks since first ordering and another very bashed up delivery has just arrived.Guy who delivered it thrust it at dd saying it was a bit battered. No signature taken.

Would you keep them or send them back (obviously will ask for postage to be paid)

I no doubt will send back as couldn't live with the guilt but interested to hear what others would do.

are they nice?

can I have one?

BecauseImWereWolfit · 02/10/2007 17:09

Definitely send them back! It's theft otherwise ...

brimfull · 02/10/2007 19:12

ok,you've cemented my decision....bloody hell thought I might have struck lucky there...damn!

ring them and ask what to do. this happened to me once with cosmetics order which was squashed but prtty much intact and they said keep it.

i think there is some legal thing as well where if they don't collect them they are yours, so there may be legimate way you could keep them.

brimfull · 02/10/2007 19:45

oooh that would be good fishie, will ring tomorrow thanks!

Fishie - that's just for unsolicited goods!

BecauseImWereWolfit · 03/10/2007 09:18

I had the same thing happen with some Easter eggs from Hotel Chocolat - I rang to let them know my order hadn't arrived so they sent another one out. I asked them what to do if the original order did arrive and they said to keep them! And the original order arrived the next day with the new order.

Much chocolatey joy for the BIWI dcs that year!

But I did ask them rather than assume I could keep them.

brimfull · 03/10/2007 09:29

well just rang and they said to send them back and they would refund postage. This pisses me right off actually.
I would rather they either sent a freepost address label or a courier to pick up.Tis box will cost about £15 to send.Royal pain in the butt going to post office aswell.

ggirl, which jackets did you order? (I'm after one myself but can't decide which one to get)

brimfull · 03/10/2007 09:47

don't know how to do multiple links so I'll tell you

4 in 1 commuter-was unflattering on me

diamond quilted something in magenta-colour awful on me

kept this one,but from uk site so £79

so do you think I should moan more and demand courier or freepost ...or get a life

OP posts:
lailasmum · 03/10/2007 09:50

I think the companies often just tell you to keep them as it costs more for them to arrange couriers and in time sorting it out that the item costs sometimes.

brimfull · 03/10/2007 09:58

order worth £200 though,

I have emailed them saying I want freepost address or courier pick up.

yes this is good ggirl. you have contacted them, they have offered an unacceptable solution. and there is a post strike tomorrow so what are you to do anyway?

brimfull · 03/10/2007 21:28

Thanks fishie

Still waiting to hear from them,a bit disappointing for Lands End ,they're normally an the ball with customer service.
