Epping, or Ongar

Anyone live in Epping or Ongar which is better for a family with small kids.

What are schools like, childcare, any catholic schools?

Have you looked at the Doddinghurst/Blackmore area? I have family with 2 small dc there and they love it. Good/outstanding schools in the area. Lots of green/parks/not far from the coast, and close enough but not too close to Brentwood, or Sherfield for the train into London etc. Depends on your budget really.

Thanks for the tip, we live in London and what change and space. We want easy access back into London, for work. We were thinking Ongar for easy access back to the central line. I will look at those areas too

No idea about schools but both are lovely Essex village type areas. Go to Epping a lot. Would love to buy a house there

Epping would be better for travel as you can get central line direct into London, whereas Ongar you can’t and would need to drive to Epping
