Yorkie, if the council job is what dh wants then I really hope he gets it. I too have been through living with a dh who is unhappy at work and it's definitely not an experience I want again!

yes Yorkie, my dh was in a high pressure IT management job and gave it all up about a year ago to be a gardener (!) - he works for himself part-time (so he can do the school runs) and is a MUCH nicer person to live with!

well, he would only quote after looking at a job but it would be around £15 an hour .... having said that I once tried to get him to do some work for a colleague who lived the other side of Leeds from us and I got told off because he only wants local work (and there is plenty of it!).
