Are there any good websites for flat/house hunting in London? It should be to rent and I've done a search but there are so many - we're abroad so I don't know which one has good or bad reputation if any?

I can't reccommend an agent, but I always use www.rightmove.com. you'll see which of the agents are likley to be a pita because they're the ones whose listings all say "no pets, no dss, no children".

Can you employ someone to whittle the selection down for you or would company pay? A relocation agent could do this and provide info on schools, area etc according to your specifications.

I doubt it that we'll get relocation help (university job) but I don't care, anythingto get back to the UK!

tbh I think you'll find it hard to get the right place without having someone local on the ground as really good property goes before the ad appears. A few £100 well spent to get it right perhaps ?

At a push we were thinking of flying over to view places but wanted to get a feel for what's on offer by checking out the internet first. It will be not be easy that's for sure! Can't believe some ofthe prices I've been seeing and that's per week
