im running out of ideas to entertain my 7mnth old ds. i dont drive so im thinking round the house stuff......ive tried painting...he just wants to eat it....tried playing with pasta and rice....he tries to eat that too.... same with the paydough...hes fed up of his toys and the door bouncer is broken. i feel like he looks at me s if to say 'what r we gonna do then?' and i just dont know...what do you do with your kids?

Is there a park nearby? Duck Pond? Or just take him for a walk for 30minutes or so. Gives him fresh air and you a break from thinking about what to do next.

we walk everyday to the shops...and ometimes to the baby groups although thats a bit of a trek in esp. in the rain! thinking of going to a sing along morning at the library....just dont know what to do when im in the house?

baby and toddler groups
have other kids to keep him entertained
go for a walk to shops/around the area.
Can he crawl? Spread toys out

mimi03 · 26/09/2007 15:30

he can get where he wants to go but its not exactly crawling! i think hes frustrated as he wants to get about quicker but cant quite yet. think im gonna have to get my butt in gear and start going to the baby groups more....its so annoying as im away from all my family and friends right now and i worry that he doesnt get interaction from anyone other that me and dh.

What about playing with building blocks (those big ones - I think they're called Mega Bloks or something).

I used to give dd her bath in the mornings. On the days when I didn't work we'd spend ages in the bath splashing around and playing.

they r both vey good ideas! will try them both, thanks

I sit my 7m old in a travel cot while I'm doing things around the house - he has a few toys in there. Shakey things seem to be quite popular at the moment!

I seem to remember doing a lot of shopping too!
