Not sure how I feel

Probably the wrong place to post this, but thought it might be good to get a woman's point of view.

I'm an 18 year old lad. Never had a girlfriend since I was 14 (so yes, I'm still a virgin). Never really had any friends until I started began my new course at college, didn't really mix well with the people in my class but get on really well with the people I work with at my placement, a pre-school They're aged 18-54 and they all know I'm a virgin (I never actually said that, but they know I haven't had I girlfriend since I was 14).

I'm not sure why but I always seem to get so confused when thinking about how I feel about a girl. Because all my friends are female, I'm really not sure what to expect to feel when I have romantic feelings for someone. Whenever I think I do have feelings for a girl I never seem to get the impression that she does too. I'm honestly just so confused. Can someone help me please?

I don't think you should worry. There's no guidelines for how we 'should' feel. In fact, trying to feel things you don't really feel can be quite damaging. 'Feeling something' for someone isn't a defined quantity. Only you can know.

I'd say just wait. When someone comes along who's really worth feeling something for, you'll just feel it. You won't have to think about whether you feel it or not.

Lots of people don't lose their virginity until their 20s. There's no rush.

And nobody will assume you're a virgin because you've not had a girlfriend. You might have had a one night stand, or a casual relationship. Or 10.
