Child friendly pub needed in Horsham area

Can anyone help?

I'm organising a small reunion of 2 friends from school. We've decided to meet in or around Horsham as it is in the middle of all of us, and are bringing our dh/p's and children, but none of us knows the area!

Can anyone recommend a nice pub where we can get Sunday lunch, maybe feed some ducks, and eat/drink inside as it is bound not to be warm enough to sit outside and eat. Children will be aged between 2 and 10.

Many thanks in advance!

Horsham is a lovely little town, and is easy and nice to walk around. Suggest parking in the multistorey near Sainsbury's, then there's a whacky water fountain the kids will love, right outside McDonalds (obviously not suggesting eating THERE!), then you could walk in the park, which has swings and things but no ducks as far as I know. The pub the Black Jug backs onto the park and fronts the main road in, it has a little garden in the back, and is nice inside. Problem is I haven't been there since BC (before children) so don't know if it takes kids. Could try giving it a ring. There's also a big Bar Vin or Bar One, can't remember which, but they always do nice family friendly food in the day, on big tables.

Good luck Let me know what you thought!!

Ah, just thought, there's one of those American theme eating houses just outside Horsham. Park in its cark park and the kids will like it, not sure if that's what you were after though.

I used to work in Horsham and don't recall any of the pubs being very child friendly in the town centre but the Green Dragon which is just opposite McDonalds did have a nice outdoor area when I last went there (admittidly some years ago).

You could try Fishers Farm in Wisborough Green - just West of Horsham. Loads of stuff for children to do in and outside, and a rather basic cafe, but might suit you.

The pub in Tilgate park is called 'The Inn In The Park' (very imaginative).

In nice weather there are seating areas out side and there is a great kids play area withing sight of it for slightly older children.

If it it wet there is a non-smoking area inside but it isn't really that child friendly.

There is tons of parking right next to the pub and as SB34 says finding it is dead easy.

I can recommend the food in there though.
