Ruffley blind making plastic circle thingys, remember them?

If you've any idea what I'm going on about, I want to buy those plastic circle things that make fake blinds. Does anyone remember them and can I still get them?

The idea is you get a large piece of fabric and lay the plastic circle thing on top and pull the material through the holes making a flouncy looking blind.

I really need 3 for my bedroom, each 3ft wide, can anyone help? R

Sorry, Rhiannon, never heard of these - but am v intrigued by them. Where did you see them first?

I'd never heard of them easier so had a look at the Rufflette web site to see if there was anything there. All they seem to do are the tapes which you attatch then pull up to gather - I used some ages ago to make a fake blind and it worked a treat.

Rhiannon, is this site any good? It seems to be very comprehensive on the subject of blinds but I couldn't find these things as I don't know what they're called. Didn't think a search on ruffly blind plastic circle things would work!

Have had a look at the sites but they look a bit too professional. These things used to be sold in markets and cheap shops. Imagine something that looks like a wine rack but is not a 3D shape so a flat shape with circles cut out.

You lay the fabric behind put your fingers in one of the circles and pull through making the fabric fill out the hole and ruffle out covering the plastic.

you have about 12 holes in each one and you pull fabric through each. You end up with a convincing fake blind. Hey presto. Now if I could just find them again.......

Rhiannon, now you've described them I know what you mean, but I've never used them. What about trying John Lewis, or having a look in Yellow Pages for local curtain shops?

I know what you mean and have not seen them for ages - I recall seeing them on sale at The Ideal Home Exhibition and at a Home/Craft type place - only other thought would be somewhere like Betterware catalogue - I currently have one on my doorstep so if I remember to bring it in and look at it tonight I will let you know tomorrow (I am at work at the moment) or one of these catalogues that always seem to be in Sunday papers.

Jaybee, had one on my doorstep too today, have had a look but no luck.
