anyone else suufered postnatal depression i had it and have finished ny tablets about 2 months ago i did not tell the doctor cause i was scared they would take my baby away from me so i waited about a year and it nearly ruined my marriage

hi jenny. i had ocd and antenatal depression - on prozac at 30 weeks PG so know what it is like. How are you doing at the moment? Do you feel OK without the tabs. It's a pity that you didn't tell the doc, or the HV didn't pick up on it, but it's good that you got treatment in the end. It is really common; even for antenatal depression something like 1 in 10 women experience it, and for postnatal depresssion i think it is more common. unless your baby is in danger/being harmed social services wouldn't become involved at all. you may also find the "Feeling Low" board useful
