call your HV? or midwife?

SlightlyMadSweden · 21/09/2007 13:58

Mine was on hte birth report that I got at teh time. I think that is the only place that you will find it without requesting a copy of your maternity notes.

newlifenewname · 21/09/2007 13:58

Gawd, was 4 years ago and in a different part of UK...

You can ask to see your medical notes but I think there is a small fee - about £10 - £15 for them to get them out! Try your midwife or hospital where you had DC - Good luck

ChippyMinton · 21/09/2007 13:59

Look in their red book?
I wouuldn't know my DCs' unless i looked them up either

burstingbug · 21/09/2007 13:59

Is it not written in their red books?

newlifenewname · 21/09/2007 13:59

Would my GP have a note of it on current medical notes?

OP posts:
biglips · 21/09/2007 13:59

SLightly - how come you got a birth report??

newlifenewname · 21/09/2007 13:59

Don't have red books because my filing cabinet was stolen in France

OP posts:
biglips · 21/09/2007 14:00

I got a envelope of stuff....most of it was to give to MW at home vists but I was told I could keep 1 page.

Just lists things like times of each stage, MW delivering, tearing, weight, apgar etc.

NAB3 · 21/09/2007 14:01

Is it not in your birth notes?

KTeePee · 21/09/2007 14:02

I think your medical notes is the best bet in that case....

biglips · 21/09/2007 14:02

oh right. Nice to have isnt it?

best to contact the hospital or midwife and go from there

newlifenewname · 21/09/2007 14:02

It may be but I don't have them Nab.

This is going to be impossible, I can tell. I guess best bet might be to phone GP surgery??

Did you have a birthing partner? Can they remember? Or would a family member have written it down or remember it if you had told them shortly after the birth?

biglips · 21/09/2007 14:03

i dont think the Gp will have as they dont get involved in this stuff.......Ring him/her and see what can u find out

SlightlyMadSweden · 21/09/2007 14:03

Mine is in with DDs box of bits.

I have to say I didn't get one with DTDs 6yrs ago, but I wasn't given any notes to take away for visiting MW as I had my postnatal checks at hosp rather than at home.

SlightlyMadSweden · 21/09/2007 14:04

I would request a copy of your maternity notes. It will definately be in there.

newlifenewname · 21/09/2007 15:27

Cool Where did you find it?

newlifenewname · 21/09/2007 15:36

Phoned GP who put me on to nurse who suggested ringing hospital the homebirth midwife came from.

So, rang Furness General in Cumbria and they had the info within the hour. Fab!
