Went for pub lunch today and half way through, a late middle aged lady came to our table and said "we have just been talking about how beautiful and well behaved your children are and I wanted to come and tell you"
How proud was I! makes such a lovely change from some of the tuts and looks you sometimes get.
not boasting-just proud

That's lovely!!

When I had ds1 I was in a cafe in Trafford Centre with my NCT group - babes were v. little still, and a middle aged woman came up to me and said 'we just wanted to say how gorgeous your baby is' - I was well chuffed but felt a bit awkward as the rest of the group got no compliments about their babes!!

Don't worry about boasting - it's allowed - we all think our children are the best thing since sliced bread, and they are!!!

Ahhh thats great.

Someone said this to me once when in a cafe with my 3 kids. I was gobsmacked and then felt guilty as i had been in a foul mood that day with them.

thats great.

I have had this a few times when out and abbout with my 2. somehow they know how to charm old ladies.

Good for you and what a nice lady. It's easier to pick up on the negatives isn't it (for onlookers) and it's great when people can just 'be nice' and make your day!+
