DS3 (16 weeks) has been asleep on the sofa for the last 2 1/4hrs..........what do I do??

He usually only "cat naps" during the day - anything more than about 30 minutes is pretty good going.

I have to leave the house at 3pm as we have the afterschool service which I play for. However some of the people that help with it are setting up from 2pm (ie now).......they are all "new" helpers and have never helped to set up before.

I had said that I would be there to help if I could if DS3 wasn't being too grumpy (other woman that does it regularly works at the school so can't get there until just before we start) and really feel I should be there to help......but DS3 is sound asleep.

Should I wake him up and go across and help - or should I just say that he's been hard going so I couldn't help??

id wake him if he needs fed before heading out
its so tempting just to leave them tho isnt it...

If he's had a good sleep I'd wake him up - he might be a bit grouchy to start off with, but soon cheer up? Also, let him sleep much longer and you might have trouble at bedtime?

Sometimes they wake up just as you are deciding to leave them sleep so it might sort itself!

it's very tempting to leave him - usually if he sleeps for 45 minutes in one go I'm jumping about in glee......but we're now heading for 2 1/2hrs and I'm really not sure what to do with him (you'd think he was my PFB wouldn't you not my 3rd )

don't think bedtime will be an issue - he doesn't go down until about 8pm so plenty of time to "keep him awake" - and he still wakes twice (or occasinaly three times) in the night anyhow....

LOL I thought by the time you get to number three you just fling them in the car seat awake or asleep - or is that just me with nunber 2?!

moodlum - I would do usually (just fling him in the pushchair) - but he never sleeps for this long in the day so has totally thrown me

I guess you're right NP - if I don't go and help set up I'll feel guilty for leaving them to do it on their own with only written notes to help them....

of course despite having had 2 1/2hrs of "free" time (DS2 been quite happy entertaining himself) I've done absolutely NOTHING around the house

i hop eyou had at least one cup of tea - uninterrupted - and yu didnt mvoe til it was finished

no - but I did have 2 mugs of coffee

Anyhow - it's heading towards nearly 3hrs now......think I'd better go and wake him - and he looks so comfortable there too (of course breaking all the "rules" - he's not flat on the sofa I propped him up in the corner with his head on the arm ).
