hello, i am in s ealing not far + am often in Hounslow, for the Paul Robeson theatre, and cheap shops!!!...
There is a west london meetup thread somewhere (I
couldn't make last one ) so there are a few of us around.

jenny180283 · 09/10/2004 21:22

been here for 3 yrs after moving from South London (previously Birmingham!)
I find it a really friendly place.. but we have the Ealing 135 here, do you not have any organisations like that?

jenny180283 · 09/10/2004 21:29

Oh I'm an ancient,40!!!
Have you any toddler groups/toy library etc (the library at the Paul Robeson looks great- must be stuff going on there?)

jenny180283 · 09/10/2004 21:40

40 isnt ancient were is the paul roeson theatre anyway is it the one in the centre

OP posts:
unicorn · 09/10/2004 21:45

Yep, go check it out.. they have saturday kids cinema (great for my dd), pantomime at xmas etc... but the library looks fab for kids, and am pretty sure they must have things going on during the week for toddlers.

btw..I knew very few people when I moved here the ealing 135 group helped... but it is also useful if you can get involved in a toddler club of some description... there must be some near you.. church etc ( + you don't have to be religious).

jenny180283 · 09/10/2004 21:48

thank you for that info i will go and check it out it will help as i have just got over postnatal d about 3 months ago

unicorn · 09/10/2004 21:53

well that's why you haven't been feeling up to going out meeting etc...
don't worry, there are millions of us on MN who have or had PND.

Good for you to be in a position to move on though, keep in touch.

Have you a car? pop over here sometime and meet my little fella.. or else we can always meet up in Hownslow for a coffee (warning.. my ds doesn't 'do' coffee, he has to have somewhere to play etc!!)

CAT me..

jenny180283 · 09/10/2004 21:57

no i have not got a car but would love to meet up for coffe my little boy does not like sitting still so has to have something to ocupie him all the time

OP posts:
unicorn · 09/10/2004 22:06

have you a decent park (ideally with cafe) near you?
Could do that maybe?

jenny180283 · 09/10/2004 22:10

do u know where snakes and ladders is

OP posts:
unicorn · 09/10/2004 22:15

oh I most certainly do!
my only problem with s+n is that ds can now go in the ' big section'..( well there is no way of stopping him)
so I tend to avoid it, as it is a bit too big...
have you any other 'soft play areas near by?)

otherwise Brentford leisure centre has a 'safe' enclosed soft play place...

jenny180283 · 09/10/2004 22:18

where is that i could probably find it

OP posts:
jenny180283 · 09/10/2004 22:40

hello unicorn and jenny,

Unicorn already knows me. I live in acton which is close to ealing and not too far from hounslow. I have a dd aged 19 months and i am the grand old age of 29, am turning 30 at end of year, scary! Is the chiswick play cafe close to you Jenny as that is quite an easy place to take little ones and enjoy a coffee?

I know that it can be hard to meet other mums, am originally a north london girl myself.

unicorn · 09/10/2004 23:02

yingers!! hiya (nearly finished that book btw.. think it is fab!)
can you get to that cafe in chiswick? if so when?

Jenny why don't I pick you up and we go there for a morning session? could drop you home too (but my ds has to be at home asleep by at least 1pm..)
tues/thursday are no good as ds at playgroup.. but name another day.

yingers74 · 09/10/2004 23:10

hello unicorn & jenny,

best days are wednesday as i drag poor dd to endless classes and groups! I have a friend who might want to come along too. I can't do this wedneday as have convinced one of my single friends to come over and 'bake' with dd!!!!!! But could do the wed 20th? But if that is too late, u guys could meet and I could come along another day.

unicorn · 09/10/2004 23:15

wed 20th oct.. looks good to me..
jenny?.. (plus anyone else lurking in west London!!!!)
If ok then contact me ( via contact another talker) with your details, and we can meet up.

yingers74 · 09/10/2004 23:19

unicorn, u have my email so just let me know what time and I shall be there. My dd also goes for a nap around 1pm. i shall be taking the trusty E3 there! Have no idea how CAT works hence going with email! I will email u my mob number and telephone too.
