How much would this cost in London?

i'm sure there are a lot of different factors: soil / foundations, where you live, what you want done, but having chatted to a few people and having an extension (very small one!) done myself i reckon the average is about £40 000 (in SW). sounds a lot! but it always costs more than you think.

who knows, with the housing market in this state of flux, building prices may come down. here's hoping!
