download a song from the internet? I want the Kentucky Fried Chicken song for ds's birthday party, but don't care to pay £12+ for it.

Could you not get it from itunes? I think it's about $1 per song.

mummytojames · 09/10/2004 15:04

go on to kazza lite web site it free to down load the web site and any music on there website because its person to person shared files its not ilegal

lou33 · 09/10/2004 15:16

Any sharing files of any songs that have copyright on them is illegal mummytojames.

If you don't want to go down the illegal route, you could try napster.

SoupDragon · 09/10/2004 15:18

What's the Kentucky Fried Chicken song?

lou33 · 09/10/2004 15:25

It's one of the novelty type songs.

Did you see I fell asleep in my clothes again last night soups ?

SoupDragon · 09/10/2004 15:31

I did indeed. Snigger - must have been a sub conscious suggestion from the bra thread!

lou33 · 09/10/2004 15:33

I wandered out into the living room at 3 am, when I woke up, and said to dh in a haze "I don't know what I am doing!" then went into the kitchen to get ds2 a drink , managed to undress and went back to sleep again

limewire is free - although I guess, probably illegal after reading lou33's post. I didn't actually know, I guess I'm just an innocent (or didn't want to know!)

SoupDragon · 09/10/2004 21:41

Limewire is most definitely illegal

luckymum · 09/10/2004 21:53

You can download from Woolworths online now, pretty cheap. But charts only so not sure about Kentucky Fried Chicken??

tallulah · 10/10/2004 10:53

It's on the Pop Party CD, which I think you can get for about £9.99, & would also give you other songs for your party.

whimsy · 10/10/2004 10:58

prettycandles I have the pop party cd if you want me to do you a copy. cat me and let me know

cartrefle · 10/10/2004 10:59

soulseek can be used to download stuff but I don't understand how to do it!!!!!!!!!

SoupDragon · 10/10/2004 10:59

Because that's SO much more legal than downloading it from Limewire

SoupDragon · 10/10/2004 10:59

CD copying that it...

soulseek is definitely illegal - not that I would know about it!

Aero · 10/10/2004 11:11

Do you need to subscribe to apple or AOL for itunes? We couldn't get it to work and weren't sure if that was the reason.

lou33 · 10/10/2004 12:51

I think copyright law states that if you own a copy of a cd which you bought legally, you are allowed to make a spare copy for your use. This is from dh, who is in that business, but he says it is changing all the time, so it could have been altered since last time he checked.

In other words it may or may not be illegal

SoupDragon · 10/10/2004 13:04

It is if you're planning on sending it to someone to save them buying the CD, Lou.

I woud never consider doing such a thing. Ahem.

lou33 · 10/10/2004 13:08

Yes, well you just don't mention that bit do you soupy? They are just looking after it for you in case you lose your original.

I would also never ever condone such heinous crime cough cough.

Thanks for the offer, whimsy, I make take you up on it - the offer to, ahem, look after your cd, I mean .

I don't object to paying a pound or two for the song, but I can't work out how to use any of the sites that I've found! (Where's the [I must be thick] icon? ) In any case iTunes wants a more advanced version of Windows than we have.
