Some positive news..

I heard this morning that Christopher Reeve is now able to move some of his fingers and toes, and he is beginning to feel a 'pin prick' sensation in different parts of his body. He can also distinguish between hot and cold, and can feel people when they hug him now. Isn't it wonderful - his doctors are saying that if he continues to improve like this, he may make a full recovery one day. Fingers crossed for him.

Liamsmum,This is very interesting news,especially as he is so long post-injury (must be 5 years plus?) As I am a physio. and I have several patients with spinal cord injuries could I ask where you heard or read this news as I would like to check it out.There has been a lot of research in recent years using stem cell transplants and I'm wondering if he has been trying this .Many thanks GRMUM

GRMUM my internet search engine comes up with daily news items, and there were several entries regarding Christopher Reeve's progress. I think it's been reported on CNN, BBC, Reuters, etc. If you want to find out more about it, you could probably access some of these news stories via the internet. Hope this helps.
