Yukk...glue on carpet--hellp!

Whilst I was lovingly cooking his organic pasta, DS was being creative in the living room. Unfortunately for me this meant drawing on some spare card--and then sticking it to the carpet with some pritt-stick. It's not an especially precious carpet, but I do want to get the glue off as there's now a small sticky oblong just asking to be stepped on. It shows no sign of drying yet. Please help!

I should add I have already tried using a baby-wipe, and a j-cloth soaked in soapy water. Had no effect.

Is it covered by your household insurance? Have no idea how to remove it, but a specialist might and if you have accidental damage cover, it may be able to be cleaned for free.

have you tried plain cold water, arabica? I think Pritt is just solid PVA glue and cold water works on that.

Not much help to you, but I also have a carpet problem tonight. Tried nappy-free time as ds came home from nursery with very sore bum (has been pooing for Britain all day, five full nappies). As you might expect, this was a baaad idea. I need industrial-strength 1001!

Yuk, edam!

Try bicarb for the smelly bits - after you've done your industrial-strength 1001 (or something more nuclear). It won't shift any stains but really will stop it smelling.

What colour is your carpet.....?

Hope ds's bum is a little less sore anyway. When mine were little, after a few experiences like yours I used to put sore bots in training pants as a break from nappies - they got some air but most of the damage was contained.

Thanks for all your prompt advice. I now have a clean carpet. Well, the bit I scrubbed to get the glue off is clean, anyway
