will he wear black tights or leggings? You could always get a cut off from Boyes or somewhere and just put holes in it and a couple of ties. Fluffy material is very forgiving so I wouldn't worry about sewing. Or could you rope in MIL or someone?

Can you or anyone you know sew??
If so you could make a kind of tabbard out of black fluffy fabric and use the shape of a hooded top to make a pattern for the hood and sew some ears on - well that's what I'd do but I can sew!
If you really can't attempt making one, you could buy one from this company and dye it black if needed

Good luck !!

ooooo I found this its got sheep costume for toddlers on it, it looks easy peasy just cotton balls and a few other items go look see..

What about a black bath towel, with a round hole cut in the middle to go over DS' head like a tabbard then tied round his waist with a belt or similar and a black knitted type hat (maybe a bobble hat without the bobble?) with some ears stuck on.

Furball · 06/10/2004 11:33

Right, here's a cheapish Hat

and here's a black Towel in the sale!

Good Luck - Let us know what you do in the end and ow it looks.

letterbox do one...... (well a white sheep anyway).

alexsmum · 06/10/2004 17:52

thanks for help guys.Had seen the white sheep costume but kind of resented paying £18.00.And no I have no sewing skills whatsoever!!!! Starting to get a bit panicky now!! Off to john lewis tonight to look for woolly fabric. Desperately trying to convince ds to be something easy like little boy blue, or the knave of hearts...to no avail!!!

alexmum - have white sheep outfit - made out of the chunky fleece. shorts down to about the knee and elesticated waist and a waistcoat/sleeveless top with velcro fasteners. My dd wears either white long sleeved shirt or black leotard plus back tights. e-mail me

oh thank you helen, but I think dh has persuaded him to be the knave of hearts.I went to john lewis this evening and the only vaguely sheepy fabric was cream and £15 a metre, which I'm just not paying. So dh had a chat and told him that a sheep was too hard for mummy to make and that if he was knave of hearts he could take a toy sword. So he seems happier thank god. This costume is easy.He already has a knights suit.Just got to fix a heart on, little hat, red trousers.Sorted.
Thanks for help, and generous offer helen.
