Probably lots of threats like this, but my quick search didn't turn up anything, so I'll start another one. Thought we could add ideas, stuff for all ages to keep boredom away, from really young, to really old. Stuff to do together, and stuff to do apart. Would quite like some ideas for myself as a single, recently heartbroken person, stuff to raise my spirits and stop me getting suicidal when DC is away.

  1. This idea was from dd age 10. We made a wheel spinner with different slime ingredients (eg activator, white glue, clear glue, pink paint, green paint, blue paint, glitter, beads, shaving foam, washing up liquid) set a few min timer and took it in turn spinning to see what sort of slime we'd end up with. Could work for other experiments.
  1. We wrote a list of 20 questions (eg "how long is the longest annaconder?", "who was the first person in space?") and she used tablet, I used phone to race who could answer them all quickest. I made some more complicated so they would require a few clicks.
  1. Journal prompts, wrote for dc. "what would you do with a million pounds?, when have you been happiest? If you could live anywhere where would it be? If you could invent anything what would it be?"etc etc just things to keep the mind active, and imagination.
  1. Making tik tok videos together. We DIDNT post them, just had fun editing and making them, adding filters, music.

Anyone got any other suggestions :)

These are some things I've done with my 5 year old DD:

We made a cardboard rocket out of bits from the recycling, and decorated it with paint and glitter.

Played a sort of mixture between hockey and golf with the cheap plastic golf set I bought her last summer.

Learned about the five senses and played a game - name things you like to hear, things you can touch, things that feel soft, things that look beautiful, things that taste nice etc. And got DD to draw the body parts we use for those senses like tongue for taste, ear for hearing etc.

Drawing and colouring.

We will have some dance parties where we listen to music online and dance around the house, but both of us have been unwell and not really up to that at the moment.
