Mudda's big move!

Thought it was about time I updated you all on the current goings on chez mudda.

We're moving back to Scotland from Herts in about 10 days time .

We've had an offer accepted on a gorgeous timber house on the shores of Loch Lomond in the National Park, so we'll be surrounded by forest.

We've still had no offers on our house darn sarf yet so my lovely mum and dad are taking a 2nd mortgage on their house to tide us over until it does sell - we'll still have to cover 2 mortgages though

So - in a very short time I will no longer be anywhere near Suburbia and I'll need a new name! Dh is "Muddahubby" so he'll be needing a new name too unless you creative types can think of a name that includes "mudda"!!

Also - has anyone moved with Pickfords before? They've given us a far better quote than anyone else. What do I need to get organised before the big move?

Be prepared for many more panicky posts between now and next week!

Thanks anorak - it's been great to chat to you over the last year or so in RL. I know I'll still bump into you here from time to time, but it still makes me all sniffly...

Have now got "We'll meet agaaaaain, don't know where don't know wheeeeeen...." going round my head!

Right - I'm signing off for a fortnight or so! We move tomorrow, but won't have internet access for a while - or TV even . No cbeebies! Haven't broken that to ds yet...

Hope your move went smoothly and that you got that solid fuel burner up and running just in time for this cold weather! Will miss you and ds tonnes. Will def have to visit once muddabump has arrived! Take care petal. xx

We made it and we're online as of yesterday.

As I type I can see the loch through the trees. It's a bit grey but still stunning. The clouds are really low over the mountains today so it all looks a bit Lord of the Rings...

Found a fab little church which is so friendly - had a million babysitting offers already!

Th nearest village is a 20 min drive away, but has an excellent coffee shop, which is vital for my survival. Local pub looks great too.

Keeping the log fire going is really hard work. Dh bought an axe and tried chopping at the weekend. I had to hide to stop myself laughing. But he thought it was useless too, so we're already looking into getting a "wet-electric" boiler - hurrah!

We love love love this house and the drive up to it makes me fill up every time - I can't believe we live here! Will try to get some photos online when I'm more organised, but it's better than any postcard!

Walked down to our beach last weekend too and skimmed stones into the loch - it'll be great for barbeques in the summer! Wonder when I'll have to stop pinching myself!
