Not Collecting Parcels And Similar - A new section??

Instead of Ask Me Anything, I wish there was a Can I Ask.....section!

When I order something over the internet, I think I have a normal amount of interest in receiving it. If I miss the delivery I make a normal amount of effort to collect it i.e, as soon as is possible. If it’s with a neighbour, there’s usually no reason for me to have collected it within, let’s say 24 hours

Because of my circumstances I am the usual person for parcels to be left with on my street. I absolutely don’t mind. I have the circumstances, I am pretty laid back (dh and kids probably don’t agree) and it is hardly an inconvenience, heck I usually stroll round with their package before they come for it and everyone is happy and super grateful, almost apologetic, we have a general cooperative love fest of a street

Anyhoooo, one neighbour NEVER comes to collect their stuff. I mean NEVER! This thread is not about to become mean spirited, I still don’t care, I’m happy to pop them round (or send a teenager to do it) and I presume they think, why bother going, when she’ll bring it, a bit cheeky but not high up on my list of stresses

Last year I had a bad accident, a parcel came for them and it sat here for weeks, I couldn’t deliver it, no one else thought to, but still they didn’t come. Their loss not mine. When life started to get back together I took it round, wondering if maybe, just maybe they hadn’t received their card but they had, they just said they’d been meaning to come round, acknowledged they’d seen me in my wheelchair with my broken bones, but just hadn’t come round for it

Honestly, I am still not cross but I am really amused by this

I have another parcel for them and am considering keeping it as a social experiment 😂

When I buy something, I want to receive it

Please please can some of you enter my confessional booth and admit you leave parcels at your neighbours but tell me why?

I am genuinely curious

Are you shopaholics who forget you have stuff coming?
Is it a power struggle with your neighbours?
Are you genuinely forgetful?
Can we have a new section called Tell Me Anything or Trivial Confessions?

Our neighbour opposite is like that. Drives me mad, I've vowed not to take anything in again. Last time, it was a big parcel so was getting in the way. I came home one day and saw him in his front garden so asked him to come and get his parcel. His excuse was he didn't know if we were in! Well, you're not going to find out if you don't come and ring the bell!

I have read so many threads on here, there must be at least one on each street @THNG5
I just wonder why they don’t come and get the thing though!!
Who pays money for a thing and then just never bothers to get it 🤷🏼‍♀️

As with many people recovering from accidents, I have too much time on my hands and genuinely wonder about this stuff!

When I order stuff I'm always keen to receive it, no matter what it is, so I pop round the minute I get back.

The only time no one has come to pick up a parcel was when someone from the next street around the corner from mine had been given a card "With neighbour" and she didn't realise neighbour meant me on the next street. Luckily I caught her at school and she had been panicking, unable to locate the birthday present parcel. As it was a bike and she was picking up her DD right then I told her to leave it with me until she could get it when her DD wouldn't see it.
