Has Anyone Bought Specs off the Internet?

I'm disabled and struggle to get out and about, but having had a home eye test done today, couldn't find any glasses among those they brought with them, (which by necessity was a limited selection), that suited me. A friend suggested that I try buying online, but I'm worried that I'll order something and when it gets here it won't suit me, so does anyone have an experience, good or bad?

Yes many times! I get my prescription from spec savers and buy my glasses from directsight.co.uk

They will send you out frames to get for free and a pre paid postage box to post them back.

Brilliant service

Glasses direct also do free frame try but I found their frames more expensive when I looked

My son buys his glasses on line. I have tried 2 different companies but had to send the glasses back. The companies could not get the pupillary distance right in the lenses - they gave a refund without a fuss.

Yes I use glasses direct. You can order 4 at a time to try. Service has always been brilliant.

Yes, from glasses direct but I have a mild prescription and can't justify £££. Getting the distance between your pupils right is the tricky bit.

Yes but they didn't fit my face properly so kept falling off me.

I love Glasses Direct

I absolutely love Glasses Direct.

Free home trials where they send you 4 frames at a time to try on at home.

Absolutely fantastic customer service (entered my prescription incorrectly once, my mistake. Asked for refund on frames only, they refunded in full, no quibble).

Just ordered 2 pairs... 1 normal single vision, 1 prescription sunglasses... £85 delivered.

They’re fantastic.

Yes select specs.

Pembsgirl · 13/02/2020 01:07

WOW! It definitely sounds like it's worth me giving it a try then, thank you all for your input, it's been very helpful, and with any luck will save me the agony of having to drag myself into town and then spend ages trying on specs while in constant pain.

Thanks again everyone!

Goggles4u keep emailing me.

I think I must have bought my last pair from them.
