HELP - removing felt tip from plastic

I use a heavy plastic tablecloth for ds1 & 2 mealtimes.

Ds1 has just got purple felt tip on it. Have managed to get a lot of it off, so more faded, but not completely.

This new tablecloth was quite expensive and would like to try and get the mark out completely. Have already rubbed it with the stuff you clean paint brushes with. This got some of it off, but not all.

Any suggestions from the Mumsnet oracle?

Try rubbing with a little methylated spirits, that should bring it out HTH

Thanks littlemissbossy, don't have any in the house, but hardware store just down the road, so will get some tomorrow.

Nail polish remover? Test on a wee spot that won't be seen first just in case takes colour out of cloth too.

Oh yes, I have some in the house, will try tonight.
