I live in the Midlands and have a close frined who lives in Surrey - and we have met up a few times recently in MK as it is just an hour's drive for both of us. So far we have just been shopping - but dd ( 19 months) is pretty 'off' shopping at the moment (unless she can push the push chair!) and I was wondering if anyone had any local knowledge to suggest anywhere else we could meet - or even a pub around there with a Fun Factory/wWacky warehouse tyope area so at least dd could be indulged for part of the time???

Bayleaf - where shall I start!! I live about 10 miles from MK and work in MK.
Starting with fun places, pubs etc. then! There is Activity World (near Bletchley) which also has a Toddler World for the littlies - a fun place.
Pubs, there is Wolverton Mill (in Wolverton nr MK) which has a large outdoor play area and a smaller one indoors - excellent on a summer's day as garden is completely enclosed so junior cannot escape! There is the Kingston Tavern in Kingston (very large Tescos and Mothercare World there too) - not far from the M1 - not sure whether there is a Wacky Warehouse though - there is one in Northampton!!
Another place to consider would be Gulliver's Land - a theme park geared to younger children. There is Whipsnade Zoo which is about 10 miles south of MK, Mear Farm (Open Farm), which is near Leighton Buzzard, Woburn Abbey and Safari Park is not far from MK - I will have a think and come back with some other things.
Also - take a look at www.mkweb.co.uk for other ideas.
