They have sent me two emails now (not spoof ones - the real deal) saying that my bank has declined to pay my ebay fees. My bank says this is not the case - ebay have never made a request for payment, and if they had, it would have been paid. I replied to the last email (25th September) explaining all this - have had no response. Today I had a very unfriendly demand for immediate payment on my outstanding ebay fees - or my account will be suspended. Again bank says no request for payment has been received. I have just emailed ebay again. They have also charged me twice (a fixed penalty of £5.00 a pop) for my bank's refusal to pay the direct debit.
I have just had a look on ebay's site and there is an announcement that they have received complaints from several members saying they are experiencing the same problem - ebay is working to rectify the problem and any incorrectly charged penalties will be refunded. Well they are not working fast enough, IMO, and their complaints procedure is pants!
Don't know what to do now - don't want my account suspended but don't want to attempt a one-off online payment until I know what is going on properly.
This is the second lot of aggravation I have had with ebay - last time it resulted in my card being eaten by a cash machine as they had made so many attempts at collecting payment my bank thought my card had been stolen.
Anyone else having hassle too?
