I just had a huge argument with my husband. He said he needed to buy something from Birmingham so we drove in. Traffic was obviously crazy but I thought yes fair enough we are in a city etc. But when he parked up in an area and popped into a shop I was a bit nervous as there we’re just cars parked anywhere and everywhere. No decorum. He took 45 minutes in the shop thereabouts it felt like so long. There were cars beeping at each other, people parked completely on yellow lines, other cars trying to squeeze passed and nearly hitting our car with me in it at least 8 times no exaggeration. Times when I thought these two drivers facing each other are going to kick off because the roads are so busy. Nothing happened but I had such bad anxiety. When my husband came back I explained and said I am never driving into those areas again and if you want to go I am not coming. He said I was being ridiculous because I drive into poor areas all the time. This is true for work but people don’t park as crazy. I had real anxiety today and I was even at the point where I wanted to leave the car and the key and just walk off to get a bus/train or anything home. He just doesn’t understand how anxious I get when I am around those busy, messy, people don’t care how they park/drive areas. He grew up in that type of area so he is used to it I am not although I have had to drive through and hated it. Am I being unreasonable saying I never want to visit there again?
