Anyone having a break or anyone who can tell me the benefits of coming off social media?

I’ve come off it fully (I don’t think Mumsnet counts) and feel as though my self confidence and social lift has sky rocketed.

I don’t sit at home spending hours scrolling through profiles (being sneakily advertised at), looking at fake lives through rose tinted glasses and feeling shit because my life isn’t anything like that

I don’t sit scrolling at everyone on nights out wondering why I didn’t get invited. I arrange to do things and go out a lot more now

I don’t know what’s going on in people’s lives without speaking to them... so I actually speak to people now Shock

I’m more confident in my looks as I’m not comparing them to the fillered/photoshopped/filtered Versions posted online. I’m happier in my own skin.

It’s wonderful

Especially this Christmas as I didn’t see anyone’s ridiculously packed out full of presents trees, super organised matchy matchy Christmas outfits/Christmas boxes / staged photographs/ amazing Christmas trips out etc and feeling like I’m not going enough for my family. We had a great time

Great to hear. I'm only on day 5 but fed up up of the falseness of it all and finding myself scrolling through it constantly and looking up people for the sake of it.
Just feel that no-one actually cares- all for show.
Don't class Mumsnet as social media either.

It depends on what you use it for. I don't scroll through thinking other people have better lives than me. I just look to see people's nice photos of their days out or whatever they are sharing. If you are looking through getting annoyed and feeling bad about yourself it probably isn't a good idea to have it.

I came off Facebook 2 years ago I don't miss it Grin
