What colour/sort of wallpaper do you have in your kitchen/dining area? I have quite a big kitchen, the stairs are in there too and i am trying to find a wallpaper that will go up the stairs and on the landing too. I like light colours (cream etc) but not sure.

If I were you I'd go for neutrals. Almost my entire house is neutrals (white, creams, beige) and the colour is added by accessorising. I think neutrals make everything seem lighter and bigger and it doesn't date. I don't have any rooms that are blue or green or anything like that (except kids rooms).

we just brought a lovely wallpaper from M&S. I wanted a pattern and my dh didn't so we compromised. The wallpaper is called fibreglass and it has a slight texture to it which makes it look a bit like someones hung velvet over the walls - sounds disgusting but it looks fab - we've had so many comments about how classy it looks.

They do it in a variety of different colours - we have the cream one.

See! Everyone goes for neutrals!

well we actually did one wall in dark brown - I know it's neutral but not really cream, white etc etc - anyway it looks fab!!!

our kitchen is painted white. we have a wooden table (covered with one of those wipe-clean vinyl covered cotton tableclothes in a fetching green & pink floral design) and plain light wood units.

Sounds lovely - it's still neutral, earthy that you can add colour with accessories to.
