Seems a silly questions I know, but DH bought me one for my birthday last year, and I found it the other day and realised I've hardly used it.

I just can't seem to see how it would 'fit' into my life IYSWIM
e.g.

  • wouldn't want to use it at home 'cos would't be able to hear kids/ phone etc
  • seems dangerous to wear it to go running (if I did - ha! - that's a dream anyway)
  • I don't really travel much anymore
  • in the evenings when the kids are in bed I still feel I'm 'on call' and would need to be able to hear them get up etc

So please tell me why and when you love yours and why it should become an indispensible part of my life ?

Sorry - I guess this applies to any MP3 players too...

in the gym
In the car
walking round town without kids
on the train
Kids have their own songs on it and so I can let them have it to keep them quiet when
needed.

oh - that's a good idea about putting kids songs on it

Do you mean you wouldn't hear it because of headphones? If so, just get a speakers/docking station, then you can have it on low or loud. Great to make playlists - I have a separate one for kids songs and kids stories. You can also plug them into proper hi-fi stereo systems.

That should have read: Do you mean you wouldn't hear the kids because of headphones? If so, just get a speakers/docking station, then you can have it on low or loud.
