Where would you take your dc (under 3) on a day out in London?

Okay, I've got 3 days to spend here, we're doing the Science museum tommorow. I would love to know where a good place to take my ds would be that doesn't cost a fortune.

Thanks.

Princess of Wales play area in Kensington Gardens. Lovely pirate ship. Very popular = crowded though.
Depending on where you are staying, Battersea Zoo, the Museum of Childhood, Regents Park - all good.

What does he like ? Aquarium, Zoo ? One of the Royal parks if it is fine enough. Think there are theatrical based events happening this week for Kids' Week around Covent Garden

Thanks for suggestions so far, I've just spotted the days out recommendation section!

We're in Twickenham at the moment and there's not much there. He's really into trains, traction engines that kind of thing. I did think of London zoo but the weather forecast isn't great.

He needs somewhere to run around as well aS he's not very good with things like stately homes, castles, art galleries.

Where is the aquarium?

London Aquarium is on the South bank near the London eye and National Theatre, Waterloo station is probably closest. There is something called the Duck tour which is a tour in an amphibious vehicle on both river and road. At Covent Garden is the London Transport museum , never been there but maybe his thing.

oops

here

Agree about the Aquarium - one of the few places I would pay to take an under 3 yr old. If you go to the Science or Natural History museum the Kensington Gardens pirate ship thing is a good place to run off steam afterwards.

How about the London Transport museum at Covent Garden if he likes trains, etc? or just go for a ride on a double decker bus.....

The LT museum website says it's closed atm which is a shame as he would love that.

Think I will check out Kensington Gardens as well.
