I've copied the email here, but won't follow the link purely incase there may be some form of virus on that page.

I'm assuming it is a scam, what are your thoughts?

GibbonInARibbon · 17/08/2007 10:12

If link asks for bank details - scam for sure I'd say

LilyLoo · 17/08/2007 10:12

Ring them up and speak to someone. As you say the form you need could be a virus.

Spockle · 17/08/2007 10:13

It DEFINITELY is a scam, I read about it in the paper at the weekend.

Piffle · 17/08/2007 10:14

It's a scam. This page tells you where to forward the message in order to report it.

Ladymuck · 17/08/2007 10:15

Scam. HMRC is still in the dinosaur age. Unless you have had long running correspondence with a particular individual, they do not use email for this sort of notification. They make you go through a hugely cumbersome system to get access codes (takes over a week) etc if you do want to do anything online.

SixKindsofCrisis · 17/08/2007 10:15

Whhops sorry Piffle. Great minds think alike.

Thanks Guys.

I rang local office, and as LM stated, the HMRC do not send emais out!
