DS1 is ready to get horticultural. Do you remember how you grow those green bean seeds in a jar so you can see the roots and shoots develop? I've got a feeling you can do it on blotting paper or cotton wool.

Any tips?

1 clean jam jar, 1 piece of bounty tissue, fold in half length way, then roll around your hand place in the jam jar, wet the tissue, then put 1 bean between the jar and tissue, half way down the jar. and keep moist, hey presto!!!!!

Carrot tops are good too! Saucer with wet kitchen roll in it, put the top of a carrot on it - just the bit you've cut off to use them - and it sprouts all the greenery from the top.
