Help / Rant - What you do when you can't find your MOT certificate?

I'm normally very organise but i have just filed all my paperwork and I cannot find My Mot cert anywhere, must have lost it in the move, I have also lost a big file full of filed paperwork and my P45 (though not sure i actually ever had that)

Am feeling quite stressed about it and if im very honest i'm abit narked that i cxannot live my life without having annoying bits of paper to find/ file/ keep etc etc bet they never had all this back in my grans day!

Oh you know those blue stickers that tell you when your MOT is due, well its so faded I can't see when it's due, I have a gut feeling it is soon!

It is really not going well, I can't find my paper driving license or any car stuff and I am searching the entire house now!

Calm down, it'll be where you least expect to find it ! Household file, with passports ? How might you have paid for MOT, could that give a clue as to where you took it last time and when (Credit card statement , cheque stub, bank statement )

Go to the garage where the mot was carried out. They have to keep records of all MOTs. There is a database too, but I have no idea where! The garage would be able to access it I'm sure. Good luck.

LMG - look at this website. If you get a copy of your logbook then you can probably check your MOT status online

I've lost my logbook too, so thats the logbook ,mot cert, paper driving license and have NO idea where i had the MOT done as its been in quite a few garage in the past 12mths cus its an old car which i brought for £200 Am really hoping all this stuff is together and will magically appear in the morning!

Well I'm looking for my passport now! I had it in May but i want it next week plus I want to get my renewal in in good time. You're not the only one. DP'll go mad if I can't find it.

We lost our tax renewal form last month (came as we went on holiday, a few days too early to get it and wasn't anywhere to be found on our return) and I left it too late to do online. Only just found my income tax forms !

put driving license in a safe place, 12 yearsago, never to be seen again. moved house, but still never turned up..
so no you are not alone

My dp is amazing he found all of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they were in my NCMA file from when i had OFSTED round!!!!!!!!!!!! Im so so chuffed!!!!!!! I can finally sleep easy!
