Mobile Phone Problem

DP and I know nest to nothing about mobile phones. Does anyone know why he gets a message saying 'service unavailable' when he tries to dial out? I get a similar message when I dial his mobile phone number. This has gone on for several days.

Sounds to me like the network is down in your area. He does have credit doesn't he? Sorry to be rude.

Might be a reception problem - do you get coverage in your area? The reception differs according to whichever handset you get - although the sales people never tell you this until you find out....
What phone do you have?

Depends more on the network rather than the actual handset I think. In this area Vodafone's really good but different areas vary... It's od for the network to be down for so long though. Did he used to get coverage? If Vodafone goes down here it's never for longer than a day

We notice a real difference with Motorola handsets in comparison with Nokias on the same network in the same areas. DH can only get reception from a motorola in the hospital he works at - wierd???
