Sorry...I am new at this and can't think of anything that it stands for.

It means to bump a thread up to keep it in the active conversations so more people will see it as they come on and can hopefully offer more advice.

Kayleigh · 23/09/2004 16:23

it means someone is pushing a thread up so it will appear in active conversations.
As in "I'm bumping this up to the top of the list"

Hope that helps.

Kayleigh · 23/09/2004 16:24

Its just so that the conversation can be "bumped" up to the top of the most recent posts list and more people will see it. Or something like that. Words not working today.

Lolski · 23/09/2004 16:30

I was going to send you all a little face with red cheeks....but don't know how to !!!!!

Lolski, I think quite a few of us have asked this question (I did!). I also had to ask what LOL, IMO etc etc means! We should have a thread which explains all this web-speak.

MUMINAMILLION · 23/09/2004 16:35

And put smileys on by using your [] brackets either side of the emotion word. I get these wrong all the time, keep typing[shame]
instead of blush!!

That's a good idea. I have sussed IMO but not sure about LOL. I can see that I am going to have to get on top of the lingo............don't know till it comes up whether that has worked or not but if it just says blush in brackets I apologise !!

Lolski · 23/09/2004 16:38

I used to think that LOL meant Lots of Love . It amazed me when I first came onto MN how many people had named their children DD (thought it was short for Dee Dee or something). And as for AF and BD - well!! I got very confused until I found the acronym list.

Angeliz · 23/09/2004 17:07

Haven't ead all this but ROFL at TracyP and all the dd's

TraceyP · 23/09/2004 17:08

Now I'm really embarrassed.

DelGirl · 23/09/2004 17:10

awww TraceyP, don't be it happens to us all. but ROFL all the same

KateandtheGirls · 23/09/2004 17:11

I thought I knew them all, but what's BD?

KateandtheGirls · 23/09/2004 17:12

My daughter, Dee Dee, said the other day....

Sorry, Tracey, but that was pretty funny.

TraceyP · 23/09/2004 17:13

Oh, don't!!! I'm not even blonde so I haven't got an excuse really BD is baby dancing - having sex
