A whinge.

Went to a Tesco garage this morning for petrol. Petrol pump running exceptionally slow and by the time I'd got to £11.78 I'd had enough. Went in and paid with two £10 notes and the woman service gave me 22p in change. I queried this - said I'd given £20 etc. She was adamant I'd given her a £10 note and a £2 coin. I know I didn't as I didn't have anything larger than a 50p in my purse - I checked before paying in case I had the spare £1.78. Anyhow, the women serving said they couldn't do anything until the till was cashed up at the end of the day. To be fair they did phone over and ask if it could be done immedietly and were told "No" as they were still cashing up from the weekend. Ended up leaving my contact details so they could ring me when they'd cashed up.

Anyhow - here we are - 6.35pm - and no call so far - not even a "sorry you are still waiting" call.
I am not cross with the woman serving - everybody makes mistakes at times but I am annoyed with Tescos for not having the courtesy to ring. I don't have alot of spare cash at the moment so I can't afford to just lose the £8.22. Just hoping that there are no other errors which will put the till out and confuse the issue.

upsetwifeandotherwoman - do you mean the pod bag system?

i work in a pettrol station, not tescos, but another not that far from chard. i always make sure that the customer has given the right change by saying whatever they gave me and i alwasy count the change out when taking it out the till and when giving the change back. so, touch wood, i rarely make mistakes like that. our tills are checked twice daily and yes cash offices are always busy but the customer should be kept aware of what is happening with the disputed amount.

Yes, pods. I only worked Saturdays and sometimes overtime as I was doing A levels. So I only used to cash up on a Saturday, but I know it was always done either sat night or sun morning, in the cash office. I think tescos are swines. I would never work there again and neither would I recommend them. I don't shop there for ethical reasons and also personal reasons.
