DH has time off the week after next - going to stay with his family for a few days.

It is up to me if I go or not.

If I go - a few days with DH and the children, someone else cooking... but stilted conversation with his family, and we tend to get bored very quickly. At least one of the mornings he is sodding off to meet a friend without me.

If I stay home - I have no children, I can decorate the lounge, sort the house etc... but I will miss out on the time alone with DH and the children.

I honestly have no idea what is best to do

stay at home
unless ILs live on a club med resort or similar

PrincessGoodLife · 08/08/2007 16:40

stay home

stay home.

Stay at home, do the chores, but enjoy your time off. Meet friends, have long lazy lunches, watch crap telly. I love it when DP takes DS away, despite the fact that I miss them both madly.

oh stay home flame!

Go, mid week, nick the car off him, bring the kids if you like, get your pirate costume on and come down to visit me n be a pirate for a few days we're running an 11 day event from 17th onwards honey, its not that far from his folkes to where we are, hour tops

Stay at home!

JeremyVile · 08/08/2007 16:52

Stay home
or
go but make it really worth your while. Plan evenings out with DH (make use of GPs babysitting), plan really great family days out that you'll all enjoy.

And as for the awkward silences and stilted conversations with the ILs, i always find a nice bottle of wine helps no end!

FlameBatfink · 08/08/2007 17:12

He has agreed to the decorating... but the 11 day event is sounding tempting now too - I could visit on the day he wants to sod off to see his friend

It is only for a couple of days, so not able to do the 50/50 situation.

I am about 70/30 towards staying home... Why is this so hard?? If DS were older and they had no dog it would be an easier choice. (DS is 18 months and loves animals, they have a little boisterous scotty dog thing - I worry)
