There is a mini boden girls duffle coat on ebay going for 45.00 plus 5.00 P&P. The catalouge price is 54.00 and at the moment there is 10% off plus free P&P. People are stark raving bonkers. And there is still 5 days to go on it!

People are actually bidding for it then?

gingernut · 21/09/2004 19:59

clairabelle · 21/09/2004 20:51

It's insane - I think people get so carried away with "winning" they forget it's not necessarily a bargain just 'cos it's on ebay. There was a woman on TV who had spent around £5000 on little knick knacks and ornaments on ebay - she was obviously addicted, kept talking about the thrill of "winning". they valued all she had bought at (I think) about £100.

Works to a seller's advantage though - I sold a Playmobil castle on ebay in the run up to last Christmas for £149 plus P&P - it had only cost us £110 new and you could order it from Playmobil direct for £119.

Oh I want to know what it is, nellie! You're right though - if people are daft enough to pay it then why not?

Do you just sell in the UK, nellie? I know people can make a killing by selling to the US market sometimes- a few Christmases ago there was an M and S Harry Potter scarf going for about £150, but that was because it wasn't available in America. You've got me intrigued now....
