Hiya, can anyone recommend how I might find a good cleaner. We have au pair/nanny. But, she works long hours on childcare for our toddler, so serious housework is not in her scope of work. She tidys the house (puts things away) but doesn't scrub, dust, vacuum, etc. I'm fed up living in filth. So, I'm considering hiring a cleaner. Someone to come in one day a week (maybe every 2 weeks)for a few hours and dust, vacuum, clean the floors and bathrooms, etc. Currently, the nanny does the laundary. So, that's not in the cleaners duties.

Anyone know a good place to advertise (we live in Sunbury, Middlesex)? Anyone know what kind of rate I should expect to pay? I prefer to leave out the agency overhead, if possible.

Any advice much appreciated!

Look in your local shop windows where they have cards. Just call a few, take up references and get them round to make sure they can understand you etc.

Easy peasy done it many times!

Rates at the mo £7 to £8 per hour
