just wondered if anyone knew of anything that can be done during pregnancy to avoid colic?

I was lucky enough to escape colic first time round with ds, but may not be so lucky 2nd time round.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

don't know about pregnancy, but my dd's colic cleared up completely when I stopped eating dairy products (even though I still had milk in tea).

The fennel tea seemed to work a bit, but in hindsight that was probably because by drinking less normal tea I was cutting my milk intake.

I'm sure this is not the cause of all colic, but it can be and is always worth a try! BTW I did read that excessive stress in pregnancy can cause it, but that sounds like old wives tales to me.

Apparently colic is much less likely in 2nd children anyway (prob because you have more experience and are better able to read a baby's sign). I don't think there is anything you can do pre-birth to change matters, though.

But my first didn't have colic, and my second did.
