the kids bedrooms will be redecortated when dh comes home from hospital. dd2+3 will be sharing a bedroom, either with bunkbeds, or a mid-high sleeper, with slatted base and matress underneath. white drawers and wardrobe.

so what colour for the walls? what accessories can you find? bedding, curtains? room is very small so not much free space for pictures, as will need shelves etc on some walls.

they like the ikea stuff, and have boughht them the castle window type mirror from there as a starting point this one and they like the bedding stuff as well. which is a maybe.

here looks good

I think i would go for green walls and find someone artistic to paint climbers up one of the walls. Im sure you can get a tower type tent thing for a mid sleeper. Im sure Ikea also do dragon soft toys which they can have to add to teh theme.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 04/08/2007 21:00

wow, some of that stuff is amazing, but some is a little bit pricey.

these are the curtains dd2 loved.

About halfway down here there are a couple of nice hooks - one a fairytale castle tower, the other a crown?

PotatoOfDoom · 04/08/2007 21:02

It is pricey, but I was thinking more in terms of giving you ideas, and then you can post on here for us to source cheaper versions

bodiddly · 04/08/2007 21:02

I think I have some fabric at work left over from another order that may be suitable if you would like it for cushions etc. If I remember correctly it has a Liberty fabric and has wizards dragons on it - not sure it is very girly though. I will check on Monday for you if you think you might like it. You can have it for free!

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 04/08/2007 21:03

thanks jackie, but they are a bit too pink for dd2+3. they are very tomboysish. i have just had to move dd3 collection of cars off her bed.

Princess height chart (but you don't have much wall space, so maybe not).

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 04/08/2007 21:04

they are more into the dragon slayer and knights than the princesses (actually dd3 would love a pirate bedroom, but dd2 doesnt like pirates)

Ah, X-post. So how about dragon bookends?

KitsAndBits · 04/08/2007 21:06

vertbaudet do loads of castle stuff like this

JackieNo · 04/08/2007 21:06

And a dragon light?

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 04/08/2007 21:06

i love the dragon bookends. they are added to my list. years ago i saw walls shelves shaped like a fairy princess castle, do they do a more boyish version of that at all?

how about the long dragon cuddly toy from ikea? ... they look great twisted around the ceiling in the kids department

rantinghousewife · 04/08/2007 21:09

I would get a few metres of dupion silk, (fabricland do it quite cheap, think it's about a fiver a metre) and rig up a kind of four poster type thing. I'll find the link for the dupion.BRB

rantinghousewife · 04/08/2007 21:10

This stuff here

JackieNo · 04/08/2007 21:11

Dragon duvet covers? I think they say 'dragon kingdom' on them?

nutcracker · 04/08/2007 21:12

Do you mean shelves like these ?

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 04/08/2007 21:14

they are the ones nutty

that bedding looks quite bright, will have to check it when i next stop by a wilkos.
