Am I weird in that I don't really mind? Honestly don't, Wedding Anniversaries are not that big a deal to me. I have got him a card, which I will spring on him at lunchtime but other than that it's pretty much a non-event.

Can't help thinking though...isn't 7 the year of the Itch????

oooohhhh........7 years itch time!!! lol....

my dh is useless....he doesnt know when any of our birthdays, anniversaries or anything are.....he can even remember how old he is FFS!!!! bless him!!! lol

if your not bothered then its ok.....it winds me up something chronic when he (always) forgets!!

Twinkie · 20/09/2004 10:12

I wouldn;t mind at all (well I think I would probably go bonkers) but it is a great excuse to go out buy yourself a huge expensive gift and one of course for DH and then give it to him when he gets home and let him watch you open your gift too that you have spent all his money on he he he

Tessiebear · 20/09/2004 10:12

My 7 yr Wedding anniversary is on the 4th Oct. I feel the same about it as you - we sometimes give cards sometimes dont bother! Maybe because we know our marriage is fine we dont feel we need to make a fuss about it? 7 year itch -yes - we are hoping to ttc no.3 soon, so i may not be in a fit state to think about scratching any itches (except that of a big belly!)

woodpops · 20/09/2004 10:12

Congratulations, I do agree thought that wedding anniversarys are really a non-event. We didn't used to celebrate but I used to get upset at other peoples reaction when I said dh hadn't got me anything. At the end of the day you don't buy each other a wedding gift, or at least we didn't. I much prefer birthdays.

littlemissbossy · 20/09/2004 10:12

yes it is the 7 year itch... agree with titania, it's fine if you're not bothered. I however was a little pi$$ed off with my dh who forgot our 5 yr anniversary, then suggested I choose myself a present ...whilst we were in B&Q

littlemissbossy · 20/09/2004 10:12

BTW congratulations

marthamoo · 20/09/2004 10:14

Glad it's not just me - it's my birthday on the 2nd October though and woe betide him if he forgets THAT!

I have almost forgotten ours a few times but dh always makes a fuss. It's been 11 years for us.
I totally understand you not minding, your relationship is more important that cards and presents.

marthamoo · 20/09/2004 10:15

lmb, are you married to my dh? That's the sort of thing he would say. Hope you chose yourself a nice power tool or U-bend or somesuch...

our 7th anniversary is this month too or is it our 8th?see? i'm not that bothered either

motherinferior · 20/09/2004 10:20

Throw a strop just for the sake of it

marthamoo · 20/09/2004 10:23

motherinferior - you are a woman after my own heart

Tbh, 7 years really doesn't seem that big a deal - we've actually been together for 14.

I ALWAYS forget - dh thinks it's funny. When it's not funny is when he forgets too!!

marthamoo · 20/09/2004 10:28

Twinkie, state of our finances atm, if I go out and splurge on huge expensive gifts for us both it might well be our 7th and last anniversary...
