got a friend thinking of moving there, can one move there from england, scotland, wales etc and apply for social housing, claim benefits etc as you do here? is the medical system the same or do you have to pay for it, is antenatal care etc free

As far as I am aware you are unable to buy a house there. I think you have to have family on the island or can bring considerable riches to the island. The only other ways is to be invited to work there by an existing company. And then you can only buy a house there if you have lived there for 10 years (or something along those lines)
So if your friend does not qualify for any of the above then as far as I am aware she will not be allowed to live there, let along claim benefits.

We love Jersey, we have been on countless holidays there, got married there, but we know we will never be able to live there
