Is this the fashion? Help a granny.

Went to my grandson’s graduation. He looked very smart, new suit, shirt, tie and shoes. However, travel down his body and view his sockless feet.

Then there is his brother, again smartly dressed for the occasion but bare feet in a smart pair of shoes. Can only think it is a fashion that has passed me by!
Anyone else explain this?

Back in the day if a man turned up without socks you would be considering giving him a handout! It’s a bit like jeans with great holes in them. Then you would be having a sort out of old clothes as you would be feeling sorry for them.
