Why do you want to work for the NHS? (quick responces needed!)

I have a job interview in 2 hours, after thinking about answers to possible questions I've just remembered this one which is the one I got stuck on last time! so hoping there's some early birds around...how do I answer this?

Would it sound ok if I said I wanted to develop a career in health care and looked to the NHS as the obvious leading organisation in health care in Britain?

yes, that will be fine. You could also say that the original set up and ethos of the NHS is one you are a big supporter of (ie free treatment for all at the point of need).

Good luck!

don't answer that question with what the nhs can do for you. talk about their needs and what you can bring to the nhs.
