I want to get my DD a bracelet for her 1st birthday.

It would really just be for sentimental value, worn on the day, and maybe if we took her for some pictures.

I have had a peek in argos, but not sure, I want something really really special. Any ideas where I can get one from?

Not trying to put you off but my dd got a bracelet caught in her mouth as she tried to chew it. Her little mouth was bleeding, I felt awful . Never put jewellery on her again. It was a bangle that was bought as a present

Should have said it caught on her gum!

My DD was given a sort of identity bracelet when she was born but I've never put it on her. blossomhill has summed up my reasons why. Apart from the injury risk it is also likely that the bracelet would inevitably get broken at the first chance.

For my first birthday I was given a charm bracelet plus one lucky charm. I never got to wear it until I was much older but every year my parents would buy another charm until all spaces were full. So at the age of 17 I had a very beautiful and very sentimental bracelet. I'm sure any decent jewellers would have them.

I know plenty of people don't agree but my dd has been wearing a silver identity bracelet that she got on her 1st b'day (will be 2 on Monday), and she has never broken it or damaged herself! She has it on all the time. It is quite scratched on the id bit though.

I got it on eBay for £5 and was really pleased with it.

She also got (from me) a ring and a pendant that I will give her properly when she is a teenager, and my mum got her earings that she can only have when I let her have her ears pierced (early teens probably). Her name is a gemstone so I was able to get her a particular stone.

When ds was 1 I got him a silver keyring that I will give to him when he is 18. (As well as his toys!)

So maybe you could give her something that she can have when she is older??
