ive got HRP so i i stop signing on..will it affect my national insurance??

As long as you are getting Child Benefit (paid to you & not DH) you will get HRP so no you don't really need to sign on as well.

no you NI is getting payed for you as you are claiming HRP.

no problem, but if there is ever a gap in your history the tax office would write to you and ask you to confirm what you were doing at that time, working or claiming benefits etc x

Just be careful.I wasn't working for 10 wks after my maternity leave ended,as my job is seasonal & it was the winter.Consequently I didn't pay NI,neither was I able to claim any benefits.

Two years later,I was ill & applied for Incapacity benefit for a week & was refused-because I hadn't paid NI for those 10wks two years before.I was fuming,as I've only had 11 weeks without a job in 22 years,so have paid loads in tax & NI,but that made no difference.

the jobcentre had told me not to bother coming in but it was up to me to still get my credits from the jobcentre
