what colour are beryls?

edam · 23/07/2007 18:24

You can get yellow diamonds, I think. And pink. Some sapphires are pink, too.

Onyx is hideous marble-y stuff. At least, it was in the 70s when nouveau riche people used it for ashtrays...

edam · 23/07/2007 18:24

Beryl = pearl IIRC.

What's the context? And it depends what you mean by Jewels.

Gemstones can vary in colour depending on their grade and how they are treated, but in general:

red - Rubies, Garnet
Colourless - Diamonds
Green - Emeralds
purple - Amethyst
blue - Sapphire, topaz (I think)
pink -
yellow - Amber
gold - ?
Black - Jet

MrsBadger · 23/07/2007 18:26

beryls

edam · 23/07/2007 18:28

Oh, was wrong about beryls. Someone called Beryl misled me!

Rubies can be pink. But the pink ones aren't as valuable as the true ruby reds.

Gold - Tigers Eye (gemstone)

GhostofHedTwig · 23/07/2007 18:28

I believe you can get black gold too, slightly changing the topic....
