what is a troll

emmm, newish to MN and see troll referred to a lot and not in a vg way. what is a troll (yes, apart from a small hairy creature)

fake posts, deliberately misleading or touchy subjects used to stir us all up. Usually you can spot trolls as they are new posters (or name changers) so you won't recognize them.

a troll is somebody who posts in a deliberately provocative manner with the sole intention of causing trouble-an extreme reaction.

thanks a lot-I was using the name 1troll before and didnt get very good reactions-wondered why! Has now changed!
